Senior Environmental Engineer - Manufacturing Compliance

Job summary

NEXHR is seeking an experienced Environmental Engineer to support our Ohio manufacturing facility. Reporting to the EHS Manager, you will lead environmental compliance, sustainability initiatives, and regulatory programs while collaborating with manufacturing, engineering, and EHS teams.

You will manage permits, reporting, and compliance under CAA, CWA, EPCRA and RCRA, develop emergency plans, and drive energy and water efficiency while fostering a strong EHS culture across the site.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science or related field.
• 5+ years' experience with CAA, CWA, and EPCRA compliance and reporting.
• 5+ years' experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of environmental, health and safety regulations.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with Federal, State, and Local environmental regulations.
• Manage CAA permits, emissions reporting, Title V, New Source Review, and MACT requirements.
• Oversee CWA requirements, including NPDES and stormwater permits.
• Manage SPCC plans, inspections, and compliance.
• Oversee RCRA waste management programs for hazardous and non-hazardous waste.
• Complete EPCRA/SARA reporting, including Tier II and TRI.
• Develop and maintain emergency response and contingency plans.
• Support site Emergency Response Team (ERT) activities.
• Develop initiatives to improve energy, water, waste, and sustainability performance.
• Provide environmental guidance, training, and coaching across the facility.
• Work collaboratively with employees and leadership to maintain a strong EHS culture.
