Job summary

Sargent & Lundy invites an experienced Environmental professional to join the Environmental and Permitting team in Charlotte, NC. You will review and implement federal, state, and local environmental regulations for electric power and industrial projects while growing the firm’s environmental services footprint.

You will lead proposal development, nurture client relationships, and mentor junior staff. Travel to client sites and projects may be required, with responsibilities spanning regulatory

Qualifications

• BS in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field; MS preferred.
• 15+ years of experience in environmental compliance, environmental impact assessment, and/or permitting for complex industrial and power projects.
• Experience managing multi-disciplinary projects in the power industry and coordinating with clients, agencies, and stakeholders.
• Proven ability to support business development by growing client relationships and contributing to proposals/interviews.
• Familiarity with NEPA, Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, RCRA, and related environmental regulations.

Responsibilities

• Lead business development efforts, expanding client relationships and opportunities.
• Manage complex, multi-disciplinary power projects including permitting, scheduling, and budgets.
• Serve as primary environmental topics liaison with clients, agencies, landowners, and stakeholders.
• Mentor junior staff and promote knowledge sharing and templates across the team.
• Oversee environmental impact studies and interface with regulatory agencies.
