Job summary

Sargent & Lundy seeks a senior environmental and permitting leader to review and implement regulatory requirements for electric power and industrial projects. You will drive growth by expanding client relationships and leading business development across power, grid, and government sectors.

You will mentor junior staff, champion knowledge sharing, and guide environmental planning, permitting, and reporting across multi-disciplinary teams. Travel to client sites may be required.

Qualifications

• BS in Environmental Engineering or Environmental Science or related field; MS preferred.
• Fifteen+ years in environmental compliance, impact assessment, and/or permitting for complex industrial and power projects.
• Experience coordinating multi-disciplinary power-industry projects with clients, regulators, and internal teams.
• Proven ability to support business development and expand client relationships through proposals and interviews.
• Familiarity with NEPA, Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, and RCRA.
• Experience in Environmental Impact Assessments, license renewals, NPDES permits, wetlands, and major source air permitting.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; strong stakeholder engagement and multitasking.
• Mentorship of junior staff; knowledge sharing and process improvement.
• ArcGIS mapping proficiency; GIS certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support business development by identifying client needs and pursuing opportunities.
• Lead proposals, statements of qualifications, and interviews; shape win themes, effort, and schedule.
• Build and maintain client relationships to grow environmental services footprint in power industry.
• Mentor and develop junior environmental staff; promote templates and best practices.
• Collaborate with project engineers to ensure environmental criteria are integrated into designs.
• Manage permit applications with federal, state, and local agencies.
