Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking an experienced Environmental & Permitting leader to review regulations and guide projects across power and industrial sectors. You will lead permitting, manage multi-disciplinary teams, and drive business development with clients and stakeholders.

The role emphasizes mentorship, proposal development, and expanding the environmental services footprint across the power industry. Travel to client sites and offices is involved.

Qualifications

• BS in Environmental Engineering or Environmental Science; MS preferred.
• 20+ years of experience in environmental compliance, impact assessment, and permitting for large industrial/power projects.
• Experience managing multi-disciplinary power industry projects and coordinating with clients, regulators, and stakeholders.
• Ability to support business development and expand environmental services footprint.
• Knowledge of NEPA, Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, RCRA, and related environmental laws.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to mentor staff.

Responsibilities

• Lead business development by identifying client needs and pursuing opportunities to grow environmental services.
• Manage complex, multi-disciplinary power industry projects including environmental planning, permitting, scheduling, and budgets; interface with clients and agencies.
• Oversee environmental impact studies and permitting activities for facilities like power plants, wind/solar projects, substations, and lines.
• Mentor junior staff and promote knowledge sharing and process improvements.
