Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a Senior Environmental & Permitting Leader to join our Environmental and Permitting team. This role focuses on reviewing regulatory requirements for major electric power and industrial projects and growing the firm's environmental services footprint.

You will lead business development, manage multi-disciplinary teams, mentor junior staff, and work with clients, agencies, landowners, and communities to drive compliant project success across the power industry.

Qualifications

• BS in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field; MS preferred.
• Fifteen+ years in environmental compliance, permitting for complex industrial/power projects.
• Experience leading multi-disciplinary power-industry projects with clients and regulators.
• Proven business development ability and proposal contributions.
• Knowledge of NEPA, Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, and RCRA.

Responsibilities

• Support business development by identifying client needs and pursuing opportunities.
• Manage multi-disciplinary power projects: environmental planning, permitting, scheduling, budget, and client engagement.
• Serve as liaison for environmental topics with clients, agencies, landowners, and stakeholders.
• Manage site-specific environmental impact studies for proposed facilities.
• Mentor junior staff and promote knowledge sharing and process improvements.
• Collaborate with project engineers to ensure compliance with environmental requirements.
