Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Senior Environmental Scientist to provide leadership in biological field surveys, NEPA documentation, and regulatory permitting, with growth toward project management and staff mentoring. Role can be based in AR, OK, or LA and offers hybrid or remote work depending on distance to a Stantec office.

Ideal candidates have 5–10 years in environmental planning and permitting, strong QA/QC and client-relations skills, and willingness to travel as needed.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Natural Resources, Planning, Environmental Science, Biology, or related discipline from an accredited university required.
• Master’s Degree in pertinent field preferred.
• Minimum 5-10 years of experience required in environmental planning, assessment, and permitting.
• Ability to travel as needed for project and fieldwork.

Responsibilities

• Assist with NEPA planning and oversee project aspects including client contact, budget, schedule, and subcontractors.
• Lead field teams during wetland delineation and habitat surveys.
• Coordinate regulatory and local government engagement.
• Manage ecological studies and resource assessments.
• Prepare NEPA documentation such as EISs, EAs, and CEs.
• Provide QA/QC for final deliverables and regulatory compliance.
• Maintain client relationships and pursue new opportunities.
• Engage in HSSE policies and mentor staff.
