Job summary

Stantec is seeking an exceptionally talented environmental professional to join our Gulf region team and lead permitting for complex pipeline and energy projects across the US. The role focuses on managing FERC and NEPA processes, coordinating agency reviews, and delivering high-quality regulatory submissions.

You will work with biology, hydrogeology, and policy specialists, build strong client relationships, and help grow the practice through proposals and project leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Environmental Science or related field.
• Minimum of 7+ years work experience in a similar position.
• Minimum of 5 years direct experience preparing and managing FERC permit applications.
• Direct experience preparing and managing permit applications and agency coordination related to Threatened and Endangered Species, Sections 404/10, CZMA, and/or Section 106.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and project management for oil & gas midstream permitting projects (FERC-regulated natural gas or liquids pipeline projects) and energy transition projects throughout the US.
• Manage permit applications and agency coordination related to Threatened and Endangered Species, Sections 404/10, CZMA, and Section 106 Cultural Resources.
• Develop and maintain positive client relationships, including seeking opportunities for new business and supporting proposal development.
• Create technical documents and provide review of technical documents that support regulatory submissions.
• Support and ensure implementation of Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Policies, Procedures, Standards and Guidelines in the execution of all work and coordinate with HSE professionals during the execution of all phases of project planning and implementation.
• Communicate and collaborate with other Environmental and Regulatory Specialists to ensure consistency in project execution.
• This position works as part of a larger midstream & energy permitting team and there will be opportunities to support multiple Stantec projects and offices nationwide.
