Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an Environmental Scientist/Environmental Risk Assessor to support Human Health and Ecological projects within the Environmental Services Group. You will assist with regulatory compliance efforts for federal, state, and local environmental projects in CDM Smith’s portfolio.

You will work with scientists, engineers and toxicologists to develop risk assessments, QA plans and exposure models, while preparing technical documents and contributing to client proposals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Science or related discipline; professional registration/certification preferred or Master's degree.
• Minimum 7 years of related experience in environmental consulting or regulation.
• Travel may be required; frequency contingent on duties and workload.
• Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Responsibilities

• Support site investigations and interpretation of data for HHRA and ERA.
• Develop and review data quality objectives and QA/QC plans.
• Prepare CSFMs, HHRAs, SLERAs, BERAs for basic to high complexity.
• Collaborate with scientists, geologists, engineers, and toxicologists on project approaches.
• Provide technical evaluation of project documents and participate in client meetings.
• Mentor junior staff and provide training within the discipline.
• Assist sales in responding to RFPs and contribute to white papers.
• Present at conferences to promote firm capabilities.
