Job summary

HDR is seeking a Senior Environmental Project Manager to lead environmental permitting and NEPA documentation for the Environmental and Regulatory Team. You will manage natural and built environment studies, coordinate with regulatory agencies, and mentor junior staff.

Ideal candidates bring 10+ years in ecological or cultural resources surveys, strong technical writing, and the ability to develop client relationships.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent
• 10 years related experience
• Minimum 5 years of project management experience
• Familiar with Microsoft Office, estimating and scheduling software
• Ability to interact with design teams and communicate clearly
• Active participant in employee-owned culture

Responsibilities

• Serve as Senior Project Manager for environmental studies, permitting, and NEPA documentation
• Lead teams through environmental processes for assessment and permitting
• Develop client relationships and identify new opportunities
• Oversee proposals, cost estimates, budgeting, invoicing and project financials
• Coordinate schedules, provide QA/QC, and resolve NEPA deliverables issues
• Direct field surveys, data interpretation and environmental analysis
• Develop permitting strategies and coordinate with regulatory agencies
• Manage multiple projects with minimal oversight
• Mentor junior staff and ensure QA/QC quality
• Participate in client and internal meetings with technical teams
• Travel periodically for project assignments and meetings
• Perform other duties as necessary
