Job summary

HDR is seeking an Environmental Project Manager/Team Lead for the NTX/OK/AK region. You will serve as a subject matter expert on regulatory issues, manage environmental evaluations, NEPA documents, and permit coordination for private and public clients.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Environmental Planning, Environmental Science, Ecology or closely related field (equivalent to 2 years of work experience)
  • At least 8 years of experience in environmental planning, impact assessment, environmental permitting, and/or NEPA (or similar studies)
  • Proven experience managing environmental investigations, Section 10/404 permit coordination, impact evaluation and mitigation planning for infrastructure projects
  • Experience in MS Office Suite and ArcGIS.
  • Self-starter with excellent writing and communication skills, able to work independently and in a team
  • Strong conceptual, organizational, problem-solving and research skills
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in NTX/OK/AR ecosystems
  • Established relationships with state and federal regulators and stakeholders responsible for project reviews in NTX/OK/AR
  • Demonstrated ability to manage financial and technical aspects of environmental projects and tasks
  • Excellent marketing and business development skills including contacts/relationships
  • Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams to complete environmental tasks

Responsibilities

  • Serve as an environmental subject matter expert on regulatory issues for private and public clients
  • Provide technical expertise at project level and help grow HDR’s environmental program through client relationships
  • Oversee operations of production section including staff development, profitability, morale, quality control and marketing support
  • May act as Project Manager or Assistant Project Manager and manage production on projects along with leadership duties
  • Track project deliverables, schedules, workload, invoices and subconsultants
  • Set sequencing of environmental tasks from financial management to project completion using HDR standards
  • Plan, direct and monitor large multidiscipline projects with high technical complexity
  • Produce high-quality project deliverables and coordinate multiple projects
  • Participate in design reviews and work sessions at project sites with engineers, planners and other disciplines
  • Coordinate workload with project team to meet deadlines
  • Mentor and manage technical personnel; aid in staff development
  • Provide regulatory guidance (Section 10/401/404/408 & NEPA) to clients
  • Communicate effectively in reports, memos, emails and meetings with clients and agencies
  • Collaborate with regional leadership and marketing on campaigns and opportunities
  • Develop scopes of work, labor/fee estimates, and qualifications responses to support proposals
  • Engage with industrial and public clients on marketing and project production issues
  • Implement and enforce company policy
  • Perform other duties as needed
