Job summary

Langan Engineering & Environmental Services in Parsippany, NJ is seeking an Environmental Project Manager to lead and supervise environmental and engineering projects, coordinate field investigations, and direct proposal development.

You will manage budgets, schedules, and client relationships, oversee junior staff, and contribute to business development while upholding regulatory compliance and high-quality technical reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Geology or Science; Master’s degree with Environmental emphasis preferred.
• LSRP, PE or PG Certification.
• 8+ years of work related experience.
• Strong people, project, and client management skills.
• Comprehensive understanding of NJDEP and NYSDEC regulatory requirements.
• Strong technical writing skills.
• Excellent public speaking, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical, multitasking, and judgment capabilities.
• Ability to effectively work independently and in a team environment.
• Possess reliable transportation for client meetings and job site visits and a valid driver’s license in good standing.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex analyses for specific portions of broader engineering and environmental projects.
• Supervise field activities and ensure correct interpretations of findings; ensure data collection and lab analyses are within budget and on time.
• Manage multiple projects within budgets, schedules, and deadlines; prepare progress reports and draft invoices.
• Organize, write, and edit reports, draft proposals, and other documents.
• Participate in identification and pursuit of new clients and business development meetings.
• Provide direct oversight and management of junior staff for project assignments; coach and mentor staff.
• Coordinate other work groups across locations and disciplines as needed.
• Interface professionally with clients, contractors, and project personnel; participate in technical presentations and publications.
