Job summary

Repsol Renewables North America is seeking an environmental professional to provide development support and management of environmental and regulatory permitting for large-scale renewable generation and storage projects across the U.S. The role is based in Downtown Houston with a hybrid schedule (3 days in the office, 2 days from home).

The position reports to the Director of Environmental Affairs and Permitting and works with Development, Engineering, Construction, Land and Legal teams to

Qualifications

• Experience managing environmental permitting for industrial energy projects (renewables, transmission, pipelines).
• Familiarity with NEPA, state environmental quality acts, and energy regulatory proceedings.
• Experience with land use/zoning, biological, aquatic, cultural resources.
• Knowledge of federal and state environmental laws and guidelines for permitting.
• Ability to coordinate with internal teams and external consultants.
• Willingness to travel domestically.

Responsibilities

• Manage consultants on environmental studies and permitting activities.
• Oversee due diligence for project development and siting.
• Support schedule and budget tracking for environmental milestones.
• Oversee preparation and review of NEPA and state permitting documents.
• Interpret and communicate environmental data to stakeholders.
• Lead meetings with regulators, tribes, and project partners.
• Ensure compliance during construction, operation, and decommissioning.
• Obtain environmental approvals and permits.
