Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a senior environmental and permitting leader based in the United States on a hybrid schedule, requiring in-office work 3 days per week. You will review regulatory requirements for power and industrial projects and lead business development to expand the firm’s environmental services footprint.

You will develop target markets, pursue strategic opportunities, mentor junior staff, and coordinate multi-disciplinary teams across engineering, permitting, and client relations

Qualifications

• BS in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field; MS preferred.
• Fifteen plus years in environmental compliance, impact assessment, and/or permitting for complex projects.
• Experience leading multi-disciplinary power industry projects and coordinating with clients, agencies and internal teams.
• Proven ability to develop business opportunities, proposals, and interviews to grow environmental services.
• Familiarity with NEPA, Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, and related environmental laws.
• Mentorship and guidance to junior staff; strong written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Lead business development, expand client relationships, and identify opportunities.
• Manage complex, multi-disciplinary power industry projects with stakeholders.
• Oversee environmental impact studies and permit applications across agencies.
• Mentor junior staff and promote knowledge sharing within the team.
• Collaborate with project engineers to meet environmental criteria and schedules.
