Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a Senior Environmental Engineer within our Water team to assist in delivering water treatment facilities of moderate to high complexity across the Southeast United States.

You will lead design teams, review drawings for regulatory compliance, mentor junior staff, and collaborate on proposals with sales staff to win and execute projects. Travel up to 10% may be required across the region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental or Chemical Engineering or related discipline.
• Professional engineering (PE) license.
• 10 years of related experience.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required. Frequency depends on duties and project demands.

Responsibilities

• Leads teams to design and deliver water treatment facilities and related water infrastructure, including potential construction drawings.
• Reviews draft designs and reports for compliance with regulations; signs off on designs.
• Develops technical design documentation and white papers; contributes to journals and knowledge sharing.
• Collaborates with sales to prepare proposals and ensure adherence to regulations and best practices.
• Interacts with clients and government officials to clarify questions and update project management; mentors junior staff.
