Job summary

CDM Smith seeks a civil/environmental/chemical engineer to design water and wastewater facilities and related systems. The role includes reviewing designs for regulatory compliance and signing off on final designs, ensuring firm policies are followed, and guiding junior staff.

Travel up to 10% may be required. You will contribute to technical papers, collaborate with sales on proposals, and meet client design needs across projects in the United States.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental or Chemical Engineering is required.
• PE license is required or active.
• Minimum 7 years of related engineering experience.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required.
• Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Create water and wastewater treatment facilities, pipelines, and related systems.
• Engineer designs to meet client project requirements.
• Review draft designs for compliance with federal, state and local regulations and signs off on completed designs.
• Provide technical guidance and training to junior staff and mentor colleagues.
• Collaborate with sales staff to create proposals in response to RFPs and review draft proposals for compliance with regulations.
