Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a Civil Engineer to support water-related projects and lead conveyance/site/civil design efforts. You will work with a diverse team, guide engineers and scientists, and contribute to critical infrastructure projects across the United States.

The role emphasizes compliance with regulations, field reviews, and mentorship of junior staff while collaborating with sales and client service teams on proposals. Travel up to 10% may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, or Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Certification as an Engineer in Training (EIT) or FE eligibility within 18 months.
• 5 years of related experience; travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Develop, review, and approve basic to moderately complex engineering designs for water and wastewater facilities, pipelines, and pump stations.
• Ensure designs comply with state and local regulations.
• Conduct site reviews and field studies to verify design requirements and conditions.
• Mentor junior staff and provide technical guidance.
