Job summary

GAI Consultants is seeking an Environmental Engineer with Permitting and Field Compliance to join the Cranberry Township, PA office within our Energy Business Unit. The role offers exposure to federal and state environmental regulations across PA and nearby states, and involves field work and travel.

The successful candidate will perform assignments with minimal supervision, including developing E&S and SWPPP plans, reporting, and QA/QC to support site and linear construction projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in engineering with environmental focus.
• 6+ years in environmental permitting, reporting, and recordkeeping.
• 4+ years in environmental field compliance and reporting.
• Experience with sound level studies and ESAs.
• Knowledge of SWPPP and NPDES regulations; E&S controls.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and GIS (ArcGIS).
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

• Review permits, permit conditions, and modifications for air and water projects.
• Assist with environmental reporting and monitoring reports.
• Prepare sound studies, wetland reports, erosion and sediment plans.
• Contribute to erosion/sediment and stormwater plans for site and linear projects.
• Provide in-field assistance with E&S controls; work with minimal supervision.
• Adhere to Health & Safety requirements and QA/QC standards.
