Job summary

GAI Consultants Inc. is seeking an Environmental Compliance Intern to support the Cranberry office within the Civil & Environmental Engineering Business Unit.

The intern will assist licensed engineers on projects addressing federal and state environmental regulations in PA, OH, WV, and nearby regions. The role offers entry-level responsibilities with travel as needed, and requires enrollment in a bachelor’s program in Engineering or related field.

Qualifications

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical reports and procedures, and governmental regulations.
• Ability to write reports and other business correspondence.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from other staff members.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparation and review of SPCC Plans and PPC Plans.
• Review and assist in permits including Minor Modifications and Title V.
• Review E&S and stormwater plans for site and linear construction projects.
• Perform field monitoring on construction projects (E&S) and Phase I ESAs.
• Prepare periodic reports and applications (field monitoring, reporting, permits).
• Utilize GPS-enabled devices to collect data tied to project locations.
• Maintain QA/QC standards and adhere to company and client procedures.
