Job summary

GAI Consultants, Inc. is seeking an Environmental Compliance Intern to join the Cranberry office within the Civil & Environmental Engineering Business Unit.

You will assist licensed engineers and contribute to projects addressing federal and state environmental regulations in PA, OH, WV, and surrounding regions. The role offers exposure to SPCC/air permit work, E&S and stormwater planning, field data collection, and report preparation in a fast-paced team environment.

Qualifications

• Applicant must be enrolled at an accredited college or university to obtain a bachelor's degree in Engineering or related.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical reports and procedures, and governmental regulations.
• Ability to write reports and other business correspondence.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from other staff members.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation and review of SPCC Plans and state PPC Plans.
• Review and assist in the completion of state and federal environmental air quality permits including Minor Modifications and Major Source – Title V.
• Review E&S control and stormwater plans for site and linear construction projects.
• Perform field monitoring with supervision on construction projects (E&S compliance, Phase I ESAs, etc.).
• Prepare periodic reports and applications (field monitoring, reporting, permitting).
• Review specifications, permits, and permit conditions as needed.
• Use GPS or GPS-enabled devices to collect data tied to project location.
• Adhere to Health and Safety requirements and QA/QC standards.
