Job summary

GAI Consultants, Inc. is seeking a Compliance Environmental Specialist (Assistant Environmental Specialist 2) to conduct field compliance monitoring based out of Pittsburgh, Cranberry, or Southpointe offices.

Remote work with regional travel to project sites across Upper Midwestern and Mid-Atlantic regions; travel 2-5 days per week. The role focuses on field data collection, environmental reporting, and regulatory compliance under federal and state regimes.

Qualifications

• Two to four years of demonstrated experience in environmental field monitoring.
• Understanding of E&S control BMP concepts and permit conditions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and technical writing ability.
• Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and related MS Office tools.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel regionally.

Responsibilities

• Perform field monitoring of erosion and sediment controls on construction projects.
• Review permits, E&S plans, and stormwater plans for compliance.
• Prepare and review periodic monitoring reports based on field observations.
• Assist with environmental reports, permit applications, and closeout documents.
• Adhere to Health, Safety and QA/QC requirements; travel 2-5 days per week.
