Job summary

GAI Consultants, Inc. is seeking an Environmental Specialist 2 to support permitting and field compliance across projects in PA, WV, MD, VA, and OH.

The role emphasizes air and water quality permitting, SPCC, E&S controls, and field data collection with occasional travel. The successful candidate will contribute to regulatory compliance, QA/QC, and reporting while collaborating in a fast-paced, team-oriented energy group.

Qualifications

• Approximately six years of experience with environmental permitting, reporting, and recordkeeping related to air and water quality.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and technical writing ability.
• Ability to utilize electronic location devices (GPS) to collect data tied to a Project location.
• Proficiency with MS Word, Excel and MS Office applications and familiarity with report, database and form completion.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to pass screening to drive a GAI vehicle.
• Willingness to travel 4–6+ hours round trip with potential overnight stays.

Responsibilities

• Develop, review and interpret regulations, specifications, compliance requirements and project deliverables.
• Air Permitting (Major and Minor Sources, SPCC, etc.).
• In-field compliance support for E&S controls on construction projects.
• Prepare and review monitoring reports based on field observations.
• Adhere to Health & Safety requirements and QA/QC standards.
• Assist with environmental reporting and recordkeeping related to the items above.
