Job summary

JoCo is seeking an Environmental Compliance Specialist to oversee regulatory compliance across development, construction, commissioning and operation of energy and infrastructure projects. You will translate permits into actionable requirements and guide teams through risk and agency expectations.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree and 8+ years environmental experience, strong communication skills, and proficiency with MS Office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with at least 8 years of broad environmental experience.
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal capabilities with a consistent commitment to workplace safety.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and standard PC applications.
• Preferred experience designing and executing environmental compliance programs for large-scale energy or infrastructure projects.
• Preferred knowledge of permit tracking, contractor compliance, regulatory agency coordination, and stakeholder engagement.

Responsibilities

• Translate environmental permits, regulations, and project commitments into practical requirements for internal teams and contractors.
• Create and enhance compliance programs, procedures, tracking systems, and project-specific implementation plans.
• Coordinate environmental inspections, monitoring activities, training, documentation, reporting, schedules, and associated cost planning.
• Partner with engineering, construction, operations, legal, consultants, and field teams to identify compliance concerns and drive corrective actions.
• Lead environmental compliance efforts for high-risk or complex projects, including regulatory agency interactions, audits, incident management, and operational transitions.
• Monitor contractor performance and help ensure environmental obligations are fulfilled throughout project execution.
