Job summary

Liberty Mutual's Environmental Complex Claims Team seeks a Senior Technical Claims Specialist II to own high-exposure environmental and commercial casualty files from notice to resolution, determine coverage, set reserves, direct litigation, and negotiate settlements.

You'll mentor staff, coordinate with counsel and home office teams, and collaborate with Underwriting and Reinsurance in a hybrid role based near hub offices, with remote options for qualified candidates.

Qualifications

• 10+ years handling complex commercial casualty or environmental liability claims.
• Experience directing defense and coverage counsel.
• Strong communication skills and leadership with senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Manage high-severity environmental and commercial casualty claims end to end, including coverage determination and negotiation.
• Analyze policy language and environmental provisions for coverage positions.
• Build resolution strategies, including reserve recommendations and settlement approaches.
• Direct defense and coverage counsel, environmental consultants, and Home Office teams.
• Partner with Underwriting, Reinsurance, and other units and mentor staff.
