Job summary

Galveston County Information Technology seeks a senior integration specialist to design, implement, and support enterprise integrations and APIs. The role focuses on secure, reliable data exchanges across financial, HR, Courts, and public safety systems, with emphasis on Boomi and iPaaS technologies.

You will analyze complex requirements, implement scalable solutions, monitor performance, and ensure compliance with cybersecurity and governance standards.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, information technology, information systems, or closely related field.
• Requires five years of progressively responsible experience in enterprise systems integration, API development, and related IT work.
• Experience with enterprise integration platforms (iPaaS) and API development.
• Knowledge of REST and SOAP APIs, JSON, XML, CSV, and SQL.
• Experience with security concepts such as authentication, encryption, and certificates.
• Experience implementing monitoring, logging, error handling, and data recovery for integrations.

Responsibilities

• Designs, develops, implements, maintains, and supports enterprise application integrations, interfaces, APIs, and automated data exchanges across county and third-party systems.
• Develops integration solutions for financial and human resources systems, Courts, Public Safety, and other applications.
• Designs and implements secure, reliable, and fault-tolerant integrations using APIs, web services, and data exchange methods.
• Develops, configures, administers, monitors, and troubleshoots integrations using enterprise platforms and related technologies.
• Implements and supports REST and SOAP APIs, web services, and system interfaces with JSON, XML, CSV, SQL.
• Investigates and resolves complex integration failures and data exchange issues; analyzes logs and system behavior to identify root causes.
• Maintains monitoring, logging, error handling, alerting, recovery, and data validation processes for integration reliability.
• Collaborates with Applications staff, Cybersecurity, and other teams to analyze requirements and translate them into integration solutions.
• Supports implementations, upgrades, migrations, and modernization initiatives requiring new or modified integrations.
• Develops and maintains integration mappings, data flow documentation, and technical specifications.
• Ensures solutions adhere to cybersecurity, access control, change management, testing, and governance requirements.
