Job summary

First Citizens is seeking a Senior Enterprise Incident Response Manager to assess enterprise impact and risk from major events affecting customers, associates, and operations. You will translate complex, rapidly changing information into a clear view of business impact and required escalation for senior leadership.

You will lead cross-functional coordination across Security, Risk, Technology, and Operations, delivering timely, business-focused updates and guiding decision-making under pressure.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in enterprise operations, risk, incident response, or related disciplines.
• Experience assessing complex, high-impact, or time-sensitive business events.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication to senior leadership.
• Strong business acumen, risk assessment, analytical and critical-thinking abilities.
• Ability to synthesize information rapidly and operate under pressure.
• Proven stakeholder-management and influencing skills within a large enterprise.

Responsibilities

• Lead assessment of actual and potential enterprise impact using the EIR severity matrix.
• Assess customer, associate, operational, technology, financial, regulatory, third-party, and reputational impact.
• Identify affected services, processes, stakeholders, dependencies, and information gaps.
• Reassess events as conditions change and elevate emerging risks to leadership.
• Establish and maintain a consolidated enterprise view across functions.
• Synthesize information into concise, actionable assessments for leadership.
• Develop and deliver timely business-focused communications for executives.
• Coordinate across Major Incident Management, Cybersecurity, Risk, Legal, Communications, and other functions.
• Evaluate enterprise significance and escalate as needed; support Crisis Management activation.
