Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Principal Cybersecurity Engineer to provide strategic and hands-on leadership across cybersecurity architecture, engineering, modernization, and technology integration. Hybrid work with 3 days on site at Adelphi, MD, requires TS/SCI with SAP eligibility and CISSP.

You will evaluate emerging cybersecurity technologies, lead feasibility studies and pilot projects, and act as a primary technical interface to Government leads for Enterprise Cybersecurity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in cybersecurity, computer science, information technology, engineering, or related field with 12+ years of relevant IT/cybersecurity experience; four additional years may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• 4+ years of cybersecurity engineering experience supporting the Federal Government as a Government or contractor employee.
• Experience migrating services, apps, or data from on‑premises to hybrid or multi‑cloud architectures.
• Strong knowledge of Federal cybersecurity requirements and frameworks (NIST, FISMA, FedRAMP).
• Experience evaluating vendors and designing cybersecurity solutions for enterprise implementation.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, architecture, integration, and implementation of complex enterprise cybersecurity systems.
• Advise Government stakeholders and Leidos leadership on cybersecurity strategy, architecture, risk, and modernization.
• Assess progress against cybersecurity strategies and develop recommendations aligned with mission objectives.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and lead feasibility studies, pilots, and concept proofs.
• Assess cybersecurity risk across platforms, networks, and data environments and propose mitigations.
