Job summary

Leidos in Arlington, VA is hiring a Principal Engineer / Technical Lead to advance the CESO Secure Web Service on a modern, highly automated platform. You will help migrate to a high-security cloud and architect scalable, secure database solutions across on-prem and cloud environments.

You will drive DevSecOps practices, build CI/CD pipelines, and lead senior engineers while coordinating with product, design, and operations in a fast-paced, mission-critical setting.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI security clearance required.
• BA and 12+ years of experience; degree may be substituted with experience.
• Proven track record leading multiple teams and delivering complex software systems.
• Strong organizational and documentation skills.
• Minimum 10 years hands-on experience in Oracle, SQL Server, Java, cloud technologies, data integration, automated testing and deployments, and DevSecOps.
• Experience with DS&A design, modernization, and Tier III support in complex environments.
• Hands-on SDLC Agile software development and production deployment experience.
• Experience with Bitbucket, Git, Jenkins, Ansible, and Terraform in DevSecOps pipelines.
• Strong leadership and stakeholder management, operating in high-tempo, top-secret environments.

Responsibilities

• Architect and engineer database architectures to support modernization and cloud adoption.
• Translate mission outcomes into technical delivery plans and sprint goals.
• Develop, maintain, and evolve modernized database architectures for on-premises and cloud coexistence.
• Design, implement, test database solutions to improve scalability, security, and performance.
• Lead secure API development and data pipelines (structured/unstructured).
• Implement CI/CD pipelines with Ansible and GitLab/Jira for release management.
• Define standards and governance for software development and security practices.
• Guide adoption of generative AI tools across engineering teams.
• Lead senior engineers and manage performance, career development, and succession planning.
• Coordinate across engineering, product, design, and operations to align roadmaps.
