Job summary

Leidos is seeking an experienced Principal Solutions Architect to join the I3TS team, supporting a broad digital modernization program for DTRA at Fort Belvoir, VA. The role partners with government and Leidos leadership to drive secure, scalable IT infrastructure across on-prem and cloud environments.

Responsibilities include identifying service gaps, leading analysis of alternatives, and developing proofs of concept (3 months or less) to demonstrate value.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in STEM and 8–10 years of relevant experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain DoW TS/SCI clearance.
• Experience designing secure, scalable on-prem and cloud infrastructures.
• Experience planning and executing the migration of applications and services.
• Experience developing and maintaining architecture artifacts and communicating design to executives and technical stakeholders.
• Experience evaluating new technologies, tools and frameworks to improve performance, security and costs.
• Experience operating in a DevSecOps environment of comparable size and complexity.
• Proven written and oral communications skills.

Responsibilities

• Support the I3TS Principal Solutions Architect in identifying service gaps and driving continual innovation.
• Lead analysis of alternatives and proof of concept development.
• Improve site surveys and migrations to be standardized, repeatable, automated, and efficient.
• Increase automation to minimize staffing requirements and reduce human error.
• Establish open design principles to avoid vendor lock-in.
• Incorporate emerging technologies to enhance cybersecurity and reduce cost.
• Collaborate with project teams to ensure alignment with vision and intent of improvements.
• Draft detailed project plans outlining technical approach, cost, schedule, and risks.
