Credit Acceptance Corporation is seeking an experienced engineer to lead automation across enterprise applications and AI-enabled workflows. The role focuses on simplifying processes before automation, building scalable, secure solutions, and improving data quality for enterprise AI initiatives.

You will partner with product, service teams, and business stakeholders to prioritize opportunities, ship production solutions, and mentor other engineers while ensuring compliance and reliability across

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, IS, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
• 6+ years shipping and engineering enterprise business applications.
• Hands-on Atlassian admin and automation (Jira/Confluence) plus ADP or similar payroll/hr platform.
• Scripting/integration using Python, PL/SQL, JavaScript, REST APIs or webhooks in production.
• Experience applying generative AI or agent tools to business workflows with data controls and oversight.
• Experience building secure, compliant apps with HR/payroll data; SOC 2 familiarity.
• SDLC/ADLC, Agile/SCRUM, testing, release management and DevOps practices.
• Technical leadership and mentoring to other engineers.
• Willing to relocate to hub locations: Southfield MI; Bellevue WA; SF Bay Area.

Responsibilities

• Find friction and simplify before automating with product owners and stakeholders.
• Build and ship productivity solutions using platform workflows and APIs.
• Engineer AI-powered self-service with deterministic automation where appropriate.
• Create reusable, trustworthy capabilities and secure data exchange via APIs.
• Improve enterprise context for AI with permission-aware retrieval.
• Protect access and sensitive data with least-privilege roles and audits.
• Evaluate and govern AI before release with testing and human approval.
• Measure productivity outcomes and monitor adoption and savings.
• Own production reliability, logs, alerts, and runbooks; participate in on-call rotation.
• Improve the application portfolio with license usage and renewal management.
