GVI Inc. in Norfolk, VA seeks an Engineering Technician Level V to support the MSC Engineering Department’s Technical Documentation Branch.

You will maintain and organize engineering records, manage technical data, and assist with regulatory documentation critical to MSC operations. You will digitize manuals, drawings, and files, support the SAMM VTL library, and help prepare and distribute technical data across the MSC fleet.

Qualifications

• High School Degree or Equivalent.
• 10 years’ experience with maintenance management, ship operations, manufacturing plant operations, or power plant operations.
• 8 years’ experience using AutoCAD or other drafting software.
• 5 years’ experience using SAMM VTL applications.

Responsabilités

• Manage engineering and technical records; file, organize, and redistribute documentation.
• Receive calls, email messages, inquiries and initiate calls as required.
• Maintain regulatory approval documents from USCG, ABS, and others; retrieve drawings, letters, certifications.
• Digitize technical information by scanning and converting to electronic formats.
• Support the MSC SAMM Virtual Technical Library (VTL).
• Prepare and ship technical documents; laminate large format drawings as needed.
• Maintain manufacturer literature library with service bulletins and advisories.
• Support ship availabilities by assembling and distributing required data.
• Create/update engineering drawings per MSC CAD standards and GTRs.
• Export and distribute electronic data from SAMM VTL to vessels.
