Job summary

Garmin Ltd. is seeking a full-time Senior Engineering Technician at its U.S. headquarters in the Greater Kansas City area.

You will build, test, troubleshoot, repair, and modify advanced developmental and production equipment and systems while documenting results and improving test fixtures. The role requires a strong background in electronics or related fields, hands-on lab experience, mentoring abilities, and proficiency with LabView, Visual Basic, and MS Office.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree or equivalent in Electronics Technology or related field, or electronics-related Military training, or 80 hours toward BS in related field, or ISCET certification.
• GPA around 3.0 or higher as a general guideline.
• Experience operating lab equipment and creating test setups with advanced designs.
• Proficiency with MS Office including Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Recommend design improvements for assembly methods to improve reliability.
• Serve as lab equipment expert, maintain test fixtures, and design improvements.
• Write technical reports documenting test setups and results.
• Set up, run, and complete detailed qualification plans and reports.
• Mentor Engineering Lab Assistants and Technicians.
• Troubleshoot moderately complex issues with minimal input.
• Document test plans and results to ensure reproducibility.
• Manage time to deliver high-quality work.
