Job summary

Garmin is seeking a full-time Engineering Technician 2 at the Automotive OEM Center in the Greater Kansas City area. You will build, test, troubleshoot, repair and modify developmental and production equipment and systems, while documenting testing procedures.

Responsibilities include setting up and running qualification tests, writing detailed reports, mentoring junior technicians, and collaborating with Design Engineers to interpret schematics and improve hardware.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree in Electronics Technology or equivalent.
• GPA ≥ 3.0 and ability to apply knowledge.
• Experience reading schematics and performing component-level debugging.
• Ability to operate lab equipment including PCB milling machines, oscilloscopes, EMC analyzers.
• Knowledge of FCC/CE/live GPS testing and design standards.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot test failures and isolate causes.
• Set up and run qualification test plans and generate detailed reports.
• Document test setups, results, and analyses clearly.
• Modify PCB/components and perform hardware adjustments as needed.
• Mentor less experienced technicians and collaborate with Design Engineers.
• Coordinate calibration and equipment maintenance.
• Read schematics and debug circuits with guidance.
