Job summary

Garmin International is seeking a full-time Component Engineering Technician at its U.S. headquarters in the Greater Kansas City area.

The role involves building, testing, troubleshooting and modifying basic developmental and production equipment, with thorough documentation to support product development. Responsibilities include determining parametric attributes, tracking components, reviewing documentation, applying component data, and performing basic tests.

Qualifications

  • Strong electronics and engineering fundamentals applied to testing and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

  • Determine parametric attributes for assigned components.
  • Track components and monitor PCN (Product Change Notifications).
  • Review documentation for accuracy and apply component data.
  • Operate basic lab test equipment to test and troubleshoot failures.
  • Set up and execute basic test plans and provide detailed test reports.
  • Check functionality of installed equipment to evaluate performance.
  • Write technical reports with test setups and results.
  • Manage BOM entries and process purchase orders where needed.
  • Recommend design improvements to improve reliability and simplify assembly.
