Job summary

Expedia Group is seeking a Senior Manager Software Engineering Development for the Brand Expedia Home team. You will lead a diverse group of six to seven engineers, guiding architecture, design, and delivery across web and native apps while partnering with product, design, and platform teams.

You’ll translate complex traveller problems into pragmatic technical solutions, drive experimentation, and ensure high engineering standards with CI/CD and robust observability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent; technical degree preferred.
• 8+ years of relevant experience and 3+ years of people management.
• Experience leading a software engineering team with trust and belonging.
• Strong fundamentals in system design, API design, data modeling, and cloud platforms.
• Delivery of customer-facing software with end-to-end ownership.
• Ability to align technical decisions with product and business outcomes.
• Effective partnerer with Product, Design, Brand/Marketing, and leadership.
• Commitment to coaching, feedback, and inclusive leadership.
• Familiarity with AI/ML-enabled capabilities and responsible use.

Responsibilities

• Lead, support, and grow a diverse team of engineers with coaching and feedback.
• Own engineering direction and delivery roadmap for Brand Expedia Home across web and app.
• Build relationships with cross-functional partners to align priorities.
• Translate problems into pragmatic technical plans for travellers.
• Guide system, low-level, and API design with scalability and security in mind.
• Champion traveller-centric product culture with data-driven decisions.
• Drive end-to-end ownership from design to deployment and observability.
• Promote high standards via reviews, testing, CI/CD, and documentation.
• Maintain technical breadth across frontend, backend, web, mobile, and platform.
• Identify risks, remove bottlenecks, and communicate trade-offs clearly.
• Use metrics to improve roadmap and value delivery.
• Recruit and develop talent, ensuring equity and access.
