GameChanger is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead the video enablement team, owning the core video experience from ingest to playback for millions of streams and highlight clips.

The role focuses on mentoring engineers, aligning with cross-functional teams, and ensuring a scalable video infrastructure in a remote-first setup with strong collaboration. The team operates in an async environment across the US.

Qualifications

• Strong background in video and audio streaming, with hands-on experience in user-generated content and live streaming technologies.
• Leadership style rooted in collaboration, earning trust by listening and influencing through ideas.
• Solid understanding of software engineering principles and AWS cloud architecture for scalable video infrastructure.
• Ability to think strategically about the engineering team's long-term vision and leadership partners.
• Player-coach mindset: not coding daily but close enough to contribute technically when needed.
• Experience coding in Go, Rust, C# is a plus; familiarity with Node/TypeScript, React, Kotlin or Swift is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Shape and execute GC's video streaming roadmap with cross-functional teams.
• Lead the Video Enablement team through design, build, and support of core video capabilities and integrations.
• Continuously measure and improve live and VOD streaming experiences using data and user empathy.
• Hire, onboard, and grow a high-performing team while fostering ownership and curiosity.
• Occasionally review code and mentor senior and staff engineers while guiding architecture decisions.
• Collaborate with infrastructure teams to maintain a resilient, scalable video pipeline in AWS.
• Support product feature and computer vision teams with clear interfaces and documentation.
• Stay engaged during production incidents and provide hands-on support when needed.
