Job summary

GAI Consultants seeks a Senior Engineering Manager with 15+ years of experience to oversee engineers, manage plans and financials, and serve as the client representative on complex projects. The role emphasizes leadership, design-build know-how, and multi-state PE licensure.

The position offers on-site or hybrid work options across our Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, or West Virginia offices. Ideal candidates will bring strong State Agency experience, strategic thinking, and a track record of guiding

Qualifications

• Demonstrated knowledge of and experience working with State Agencies is required; additional state and local government experience, as well as Design-Build expertise, is preferred.
• The successful candidate will be responsible for the oversight of engineers in the development of plans, financial monitoring, and acting as GAI’s client representative.
• PE Registration is required with ability to attain PE in additional surrounding states.

Responsibilities

• Frequently develops standards and guidelines for projects.
• Leads a project in the practice in their area of specialization.
• Frequently develops appropriate design alternatives for complex engineering projects with consideration of requirements, constraints, and permitting.
• Integrates advanced concepts, including sustainability, to solve complex problems.
• Oversees technical, legal, and financial aspects of entire projects.
• Recommends facilities, personnel, and funds needed to carry out projects.
• Implements a complete project management plan for complex engineering projects.
• Uses teamwork and leadership to provide effective solutions.
• Determines project objectives and requirements.
• May serve as Project Manager for certain projects up to $150,000 per year.
