Job summary

CVS Health Digital is seeking a Senior Manager – Software Development Engineering to lead a team of engineers, providing hands-on technical direction, architecture guidance, and mentorship while establishing measurable engineering goals aligned with business outcomes.

You will drive the full software development lifecycle, collaborate with Product/Data/Infrastructure and security, and continuously evaluate emerging technologies to improve performance and developer productivity.

Qualifications

• 7+ years software engineering experience with 5+ years leading projects or managing directs
• 7+ years Java, Spring Boot, Kafka, cloud deployments
• 3+ years leading cross-functional teams without direct authority
• 3+ years defining technology strategy and leading AI/ML, cloud, automation adoption with measurable impact
• Strong expertise in cloud platforms, distributed systems, APIs, microservices, and modern software development practices

Responsibilities

• Own risk mitigation and production stability by identifying vulnerabilities and driving timely resolution
• Oversee the SDLC with secure coding practices and scalable architecture principles
• Collaborate cross-functionally to translate requirements into technical solutions and manage dependencies
• Evaluate emerging technologies and lead PoCs to enhance system performance
• Build high-performing teams through hiring, evaluations, and knowledge sharing
