Job summary

Qualifications

• 2+ years as manager of managers leading 25+ people.
• 3+ years managing teams shipping and operating critical distributed infrastructure.
• Led staff or principal engineers on architectural/strategic decisions.
• Managed incident response processes and on-call rotations.
• Experience with API design, abstractions, frameworks, or client libraries.
• Experience recruiting, mentoring, and retaining great people.
• Worked cross-functionally, with strong decision-making and rigor.
• Experience leading partially remote and colocated teams.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with high-visibility teams and stakeholders to support key engineering initiatives.
• Provide hands-on technical leadership for reports (architecture/design and incident handling).
• Prioritize engineering work to ship features quickly and reliably.
• Work with leaders across the company to improve Stripe’s architecture.
• Lead processes for infra teams to perform at their best and interface with Stripe.
• Manage and grow a team of engineers and engineering leaders to deliver high-impact projects.
• Partner with recruiting to attract and hire top talent and define hiring strategies.
