Job summary

Fanatics Betting & Gaming is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead engineering verticals and scale teams delivering customer‑facing apps and internal platforms. You will guide architecture, champion best practices, and partner with product and design to build an ambitious roadmap.

You will manage engineers across mobile and backend, drive data‑driven decisions, and foster an entrepreneurial, high‑growth culture. Occasional travel to Fanatics offices/updaters may be required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years managing one or more engineering teams.
• Experience building highly scalable, fault-tolerant systems.
• Ability to deconstruct architectures for distributed work across teams.
• Ability to scope projects with targeted dates to meet business needs.
• Strong negotiation with Product Management to prioritize features.
• Ability to communicate complex technical topics to engineers, leaders, and non-technical stakeholders.
• Familiarity with Agile software delivery and SCRUM methodology.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong report writing and information-gathering abilities.
• Thrives in hyper-growth environments with evolving priorities.
• Team-first mentality with a drive for better outcomes.
• Ability to work cross-functionally in an enterprise environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and technical expertise within your engineering vertical.
• Build and lead one or more teams to deliver software while adhering to engineering best practices.
• Manage, coach, and develop engineers across mobile and backend platforms.
• Clarify technical requirements, negotiate priorities, and manage projects to deliver on time.
• Collaborate with product and design to set an ambitious, achievable roadmap for executives.
• Drive reliable team execution by setting clear objectives and KPIs.
• Promote AI-assisted engineering workflows, tooling, and developer enablement best practices.
• Provide updates on KPIs and status to executives and stakeholders.
• Assist in recruiting and onboarding diverse engineering talent.
• Align stakeholders across Fanatics to form actionable roadmaps.
• Remain technically engaged in architecture discussions while empowering engineers.
• Occasional travel to Fanatics offices and events may be required.
