Job summary

Sargent & Lundy seeks an experienced engineering leader to manage a multi-disciplinary team focused on HV substation design, modification, and analysis. You will guide projects from concept through field support and closeout, ensuring compliance with client requirements and industry standards.

Essentially, you will drive project management, coordinate with clients, and apply best practices for electrical, civil, and structural scopes.

Qualifications

• BS from an ABET-accredited engineering program or an advanced management/business degree.
• Hands-on experience with MISO facility studies and knowledge of DPP process.
• Experience in Project Management of Utility Transmission & Distribution Substation Projects.
• Knowledge of NEC, NESC, NEMA, IEC, IEEE and ANSI standards.
• 20+ years designing multi-disciplined solutions for utility HV substations in a team setting.
• 5+ years leading an engineering design team through all project phases.
• Knowledge of available equipment and pre-engineered systems for design execution.
• Strong verbal and written communication for presentations and reports.

Responsibilities

• Manage and grow a project team of engineers and designers for HV substations from concept to closeout.
• Investigate, troubleshoot, and implement solutions to modernize the electric grid.
• Coordinate engineering/design activities from concept through field support and closeout.
