Job summary

Zohorecruit seeks a Manufacturing Technical Engineering Manager for EMS/PCBA in Seymour, CT. You will lead Technical Engineering, Documentation, and SMT programming, ensuring BOM integrity, CAD/Gerber data readiness, and proper machine programming for high-mix electronics manufacturing.

The role emphasizes data-driven leadership, ECO execution, and cross-functional collaboration with Operations, Process Eng, QA, and Planning. 5+ years in EMS/SMT is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical discipline preferred.
• Minimum 5+ years of progressive engineering experience within electronics contract manufacturing (EMS).
• Demonstrated supervisory or technical team leadership experience.
• Deep experience in high-mix, low-to-medium volume PCBA production environments.
• Advanced understanding of PCBA assembly, SMT, TH soldering, and documentation lifecycles.
• Hands-on proficiency with SMT programming software, preferably FUJI NXT III platforms.
• Advanced knowledge of electronic components, polarity, orientation, and reference designators.
• Ability to read CAD, Gerber, schematic, centroid, and drawing datasets.
• Certification in Component Identification and IPC-A-610 solder inspection is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead Technical Engineering, Document Control, and SMT Programming teams with clear priorities.
• Interface with Manufacturing Ops, Process Eng, QA, PM, Supply Chain, and Planning to align data readiness with build schedules.
• Oversee data intake, conversion, validation, and release of BOMs, Gerber files, CAD layouts, and test procedures.
• Manage ECOs, ensuring drawings and machine programs are updated and synchronized.
• Develop automation and VBA tools to improve data manipulation and scheduling workflows.
• Support shop floor during FAI, NPI, and first-article prototype runs.
• Drive improvements to MT, programming accuracy, and OEE through KPIs.
