Job summary

Render is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager for Agent Platform & UX to lead two teams rewriting onboarding and activation for humans and AI agents. You will own the self-serve journey roadmap, drive API-driven experiences for agents, and partner with product and design to align plans with growth and platform needs.

You will hire and grow engineers, shape architecture for long-term investments, and foster a culture of learning and collaboration across a fast-moving developer platform.

Qualifications

• Strong people leadership is the top priority.
• Hands-on enough to review code, prototype, and contribute when needed.
• Experience building and scaling multiple teams.
• Experience managing and developing senior engineers (IC5+).
• Ability to partner with product and design without filling those functions yourself.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow two teams, UX (human onboarding/activation) and Agent Platform (API-based onboarding for agents).
• Own the roadmap for the self-serve user journey from first touch through activation, monetization, usage expansion, and feature adoption.
• Drive the agent-facing API-driven experiences enabling agent integration with Render.
• Partner with product and design to align roadmap with customer, growth, and platform needs.
• Hire and develop engineers to support team growth while keeping focus clear as they scale.
• Make key architectural and product decisions balancing long-term platform investment with incremental improvements.
• Build a strong performance management and career development practice for senior ICs.
