Job summary

Render is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the Platform team, guiding a growing group of engineers focused on internal developer platform and shared production infrastructure. You will translate user needs into scalable systems, own technical direction, and mentor engineers to deliver reliable, high-quality software used by millions of developers.

The role blends leadership with hands-on engineering, partnering with cross-functional teams to define roadmaps and ship meaningful improvements

Qualifications

8+ years as an engineer on infrastructure or similar team shipping developer-facing features.
4+ years in people management, including hiring and performance coaching.
Strong communication across engineering, product, and design.
Deep system design and architectural tradeoff experience.

Responsibilities

Lead and grow a team of platform engineers with mentorship and clear technical guidance.
Drive execution on key product initiatives from ideation to launch.
Foster ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Engage in architectural discussions and make tradeoff decisions.
Stay current with industry trends and tooling to inform team learning.
Break down problems into milestones delivering rapid value and long-term platform health.
Ensure developer experience, reliability, security, and velocity are prioritized.
Partner with Runtime, Security, and Product to align roadmaps and deliver impactful features.
