Job summary

Americold is seeking an Engineering & Maintenance Manager 2 to oversee daily maintenance across its warehouses, ensuring safe, compliant, and reliable facilities for refrigerated operations. The role leads installation, maintenance, and repair of equipment, tools, and utility systems, with focus on energy plans and capital projects.

You will direct and develop E&M teams, manage budgets, coordinate with General Managers, and drive performance through IDPs and preventive programs.

Qualifications

• 5-7+ years in maintenance with at least 3+ years supervising or directing others.
• High School diploma or GED required; degree preferred in facility maintenance.
• CMRP or similar certification preferred.
• Completion of RETA courses preferred.
• RETA CARO/CIRO or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Directs and assigns work; sets performance objectives for E&M staff.
• Manages annual maintenance budget and variances; schedules expenditures.
• Determines work priorities; schedules repair, maintenance, and installation of equipment.
• Develops preventive maintenance programs; reviews reports and inspections for standards.
• Ensures OSHA, safety, and environmental compliance.
• Oversees energy plans and efficiency initiatives; drives cost controls.
• Leads capital projects: bids, approvals, vendors, and completion.
• Develops IDPs to grow technical teams; supports staff development.
• Works with General Managers to meet departmental financial goals.
