CVS Health Digital is seeking a Senior Manager – Software Development Engineering to lead a team of engineers in Madison, WI. You will provide technical direction, architecture guidance, and mentorship while delivering on strategic software initiatives that improve healthcare experiences for customers and patients.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of software engineering with at least 5+ years leading projects or managing directs.
• 7+ years using Java, Spring boot, Kafka to build/deploy applications in cloud platforms.
• 3+ years leading cross-functional teams without direct authority in a matrixed organization.
• 3+ years defining technology strategy and leading AI/ML, cloud services, automation in a large-scale environment with measurable impact.
• Strong expertise in cloud platforms, distributed systems, APIs, microservices, and modern software development practices.

Responsibilities

• Own risk mitigation and production stability by identifying vulnerabilities and driving timely resolution.
• Oversee the full SDLC with requirements, design, development, testing, and deployment, ensuring secure coding practices and scalable architecture.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Data, Infrastructure, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions and align priorities.
• Continuously evaluate emerging technologies and lead proof-of-concepts to enhance system performance and developer productivity.
• Build high-performing engineering teams by hiring top talent and conducting technical evaluations.
