Job summary

UL Solutions seeks aSenior Engineering Manager for Fire Resistance & Containment in Northbrook, IL. This hybrid role requires three days per week on-site and oversees regional operational strategy, P&L, and growth initiatives with a focus on customer satisfaction and market intelligence.

The role leads a high-performing team, partners with Sales/BD, and drives cross-functional collaboration to deliver profitable projects while upholding UL’s standards and code of conduct.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or similar.
• 8+ years in TIC or fire resistance/containment industries.
• Demonstrated leadership experience; managing leaders preferred.
• Strong communication and collaboration across diverse groups.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Develops, executes, and implements regional operational strategy for the area to drive growth and efficiency.
• Drive organic/inorganic growth and profitability while ensuring customer satisfaction through market insights.
• Manage P&L, budgets, reporting, and forecasting to meet financial targets.
• Lead high-performing teams and matrixed organization to deliver projects.
• Collaborate with Sales and Business Development to secure revenue and build customer partnerships.
• Translate customer needs into operational plans with the right resources and timing.
• Promote UL's culture, values, and change initiatives across teams.
