Job summary

CBRE is seeking an Engineering Ops Manager to lead a team coordinating mechanical, electrical, and facility infrastructure across a 3 million sq ft industrial portfolio in Spartanburg, SC. This on-site role requires strong leadership and hands-on expertise to maintain safety, reliability, and performance.

You will drive maintenance strategies, optimize processes, support capital planning, and mentor engineers and technicians while ensuring alignment with CBRE standards and client expectations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent plus 5+ years of leadership in engineering, maintenance, or facilities management.
• Experience leading engineering/maintenance teams in industrial, distribution, manufacturing, logistics, or large commercial environments.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, HVAC, building automation, and critical facility systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of engineering and maintenance professionals with workforce planning, hiring, training, and performance management.
• Direct day-to-day engineering, maintenance, and facility operations across four buildings (~3 million sq ft).
• Establish schedules, set priorities, monitor performance, and cross-train staff for continuity.
• Provide hands-on leadership and guidance on complex mechanical, electrical, and building systems issues.
• Oversee operation and optimization of facility infrastructure, controls, and asset management programs.
• Manage third-party contractors and vendors to ensure safe, efficient work per client standards.
• Implement preventive and predictive maintenance to maximize asset performance and uptime.
• Partner with client stakeholders on requirements, modifications, and process improvements.
