Job summary

Exelon is seeking a design engineer for large utility infrastructure projects in Oakbrook Terrace, IL. You will develop construction drawings, BOMs, and provide field engineering support for electric generation, transmission, distribution, gas and telecom facilities.

Responsibilities include interpreting standards, coordinating with teams, and ensuring designs meet customer needs and schedules, including 24x7 coverage during emergencies as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field with 3+ years of technical experience (or 5+ years with an associate's degree).
• TECH test completion required (Bachelor's degree exempts).
• Ability to analyze electrical and mechanical systems.
• Strong organizational and interpersonal communication skills.
• Knowledge of construction, operations, or engineering principles.

Responsibilities

• Develop designs, layouts, construction drawings, and BOMs for large projects.
• Interpret engineering standards and memos.
• Provide technical consultation on customer and company systems.
• Assist with design improvements and team collaboration.
