RTX BBN Technologies in Cambridge, MA seeks an experienced engineer specializing in signal processing, sensing, and control systems to join the Physical Sciences group. You will work with government clients on challenging problems, developing models, data analyses, and real-time implementations for mission-critical applications.

The role requires a Bachelor’s or higher in Engineering or Physics, plus relevant experience and an active DoD Secret clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field with several years of work experience.
• Knowledge in physics, physical systems, dynamics, control theory, and signal processing.
• Experience developing signal processing algorithms and MATLAB/Simulink implementations.
• Hands-on experience with experimental equipment to collect and analyze data.
• Active and transferable U.S. government security clearance and U.S. citizenship.

Responsibilities

• Develop structural dynamic and acoustic models and related signal processing schemes.
• Perform data analysis, spectral processing, transfer function analysis, and data-driven simulations.
• Develop control systems and architectures to affect performance of physical systems.
• Support real-time implementation and evaluation of designs in mission scenarios.
• Develop detection and classification algorithms against state-of-the-art threats.
• Create prototype proof-of-concept systems for client challenges.
• Plan/direct small projects and contribute to proposals and presentations; may travel overnight.
