Job summary

Shipt, a retail tech company, seeks a Senior Engineer for the Order Management team to design and build systems powering our core operations. You will perform hands-on development on complex tasks, ensuring production-ready, scalable, and high-performance solutions, while bridging technical depth with business impact.

You will mentor engineers, operate within a micro-services architecture using Go, Postgres, Redis and Kafka, and help shape technical roadmaps and reliability metrics.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software development experience with large, scalable systems.
• Experience mentoring engineers and performing code reviews for testability and quality.
• Ability to diagnose root causes and resolve production issues across domains.
• Strong architectural design skills with focus on future use cases and resiliency.
• Proactive in improving docs and internal processes when gaps are found.
• Security-minded with ability to identify vulnerabilities and drive fixes.
• Experience defining and monitoring SLIs/SLOs for reliability and recovery.
• Track record of influencing technical roadmaps and balancing speed with scale.
• Data-driven mindset and adoption of automated testing patterns.
